Trusting God in the Pause

by Pastor Krista Price
Week of March 23, 2026

What a beautiful day it is—cool, but filled with sunshine and the promise of spring. Days like this invite us to slow down, take a breath, and notice what’s around us.

Sometimes, though, life does the slowing down for us.

Recently, I found myself in an unexpected standstill—traffic at a near halt, lanes merging, no clear way forward. What should have been a routine drive became a long, stretching wait. And in those moments, I began to wonder: How do we respond when we can’t move ahead? When we feel stuck, delayed, or unable to get where we think we need to be?

It’s easy in those situations to feel frustrated or anxious. We want progress. We want movement. We want control. But often, we are invited into something deeper—something quieter.

Waiting.

Patience isn’t just about enduring the moment; it’s about how we choose to live within it. It’s about trusting that even when we cannot see what’s ahead, God can. There may be circumstances unfolding beyond our view, reasons for the pause that we don’t yet understand.

In those moments, we are given an opportunity—to shift our perspective. Instead of focusing only on our own delay, we can begin to think of others. We can pray for the unseen situations ahead. We can release our need to control the outcome and trust that God is still guiding us, even when the road feels uncertain.

Life often mirrors that kind of journey. We encounter seasons where progress slows, where answers don’t come quickly, where the path forward isn’t clear. And yet, even there—especially there—God is present. Leading. Teaching. Preparing.

So if you find yourself in a moment of waiting this week, take a breath. Look around. Say a prayer. Trust that God is at work in ways you may not yet see.

And when the road opens again, you may find you’ve been led exactly where you needed to be all along.

I hope you’re able to enjoy the beauty of this season, soak in the sunshine, and carry that sense of peace with you. I look forward to seeing you this Sunday as we celebrate Palm Sunday together.

Grace and peace to you.
