Which Path Are You Walking?

There is something special about taking a walk.

The fresh air, the changing scenery, and the conversations shared along the way have a way of slowing us down. Walking gives us time to notice God's creation, reflect on our lives, and connect with one another in meaningful ways.

Over the past several weeks, I've been blessed to spend Wednesday mornings walking with others from our church family. We've shared stories, lifted one another up in prayer, and experienced the encouragement that comes from simply doing life together. It's been a reminder that God often meets us in the ordinary moments.

As I looked down the walking path recently, I couldn't help but think of Robert Frost's famous poem, The Road Not Taken. The image of two paths has long captured our imagination, reminding us that the choices we make shape the direction of our lives.

But Scripture offers us an even greater picture.

Jesus tells us that the gate is narrow and the road that leads to life isn't always the easiest one to follow (Matthew 7:13–14). The wide road may seem more comfortable or popular, but Christ calls us to walk a different path—one marked by faith, obedience, compassion, and trust in Him.

Every day we are faced with decisions. Will we choose forgiveness over resentment? Kindness over criticism? Faith over fear? Will we follow the crowd, or will we follow Christ?

The good news is that we never walk alone.

Wherever God leads us, He promises to be with us. He strengthens us when the journey is difficult, encourages us through fellow believers, and gives us peace even when the path ahead feels uncertain.

This week, take a moment to consider the path you're walking. Is it drawing you closer to Jesus? Is it leading you toward a deeper relationship with Him and a life that reflects His love?

My prayer is that each of us chooses the path that leads to Christ—not because it is always the easiest, but because it is the one that leads to true life.
