Making Room for Jesus: An Invitation Into the New Year

by Pastor Krista Price
Week of December 29

As the calendar turns and a new year approaches, there’s a sense of possibility in the air. At Salem Methodist Church, we’re stepping into 2026 with excitement, hope, and a clear purpose—because we believe God is doing something new, and we want to be ready for it.

Our theme for the year ahead is Making Room for Jesus. It’s simple, but it’s also deeply challenging. Making room means taking an honest look at our lives—our schedules, our priorities, even our hearts—and asking what needs to be cleared out so Christ can be at the center of who we are and where we’re going. It’s about creating space for transformation, for healing, and for a deeper relationship with Jesus.

As a church, we’re looking forward with intention. We’re not just asking where we want to go next, but what Christ is already stirring within us. Sometimes that means cleaning out the rooms we’ve let fill up with distractions or disappointments. Sometimes it means reopening doors we thought were closed. Always, it means choosing faith over fear and hope over hesitation.

If church has been part of your story before—but maybe not recently—this is your invitation to come back and see what God is doing. And if you’ve never stepped through our doors, consider this a fresh start. Make it your New Year’s resolution to give Jesus another chance, and to see what can happen when your heart has room for Him.

We’d love to walk into this new year with you. Join us on Sundays—announcements begin at 9:15 AM, and worship starts at 9:30 AM. Come as you are. You are always welcome here.

Here’s to a new year, new beginnings, and making room for what matters most. God bless, and we can’t wait to see you.
