Meet Pastor Krista Price: A Heart for People, Faith, and Community
At Salem Methodist Church, we’re thrilled to welcome our new pastor, Rev. Krista Price. With nearly three decades of ministry experience and a heart for small-town faith, Pastor Krista brings a message of hope, connection, and renewal. We sat down with her to talk about her journey, what drew her to Salem, and what she’s most excited about in this new season.

Q: What first drew you to Salem Methodist Church?
Pastor Krista:
One of the things that drew me to this church was that it’s a little country church — not a big, bright-light church with a lot of gadgets or flash, but a place where real people come together to worship. I love people. They’re the reason I’m in ministry and why I’ve stayed in it for nearly 28 years.
After so many years of serving in different settings, I was ready to take off in a new direction — one that allows me to walk alongside others as we witness Jesus Christ together in the world and in our community. Salem felt like home right away.

Q: What are you most excited to share with the Salem community?
Pastor Krista:
I’m most excited about the opportunity to get to know one another and grow in relationships. We need to build those connections — from our little country church to the bigger Zionsville community — and remind people that Jesus loves them.
After 2020, it seemed like people pulled away from both church and community. But now, I think people are ready to reconnect. They’re ready to come back, to feel that sense of belonging again. I hope everyone will join us in that — because we’re ready, too! Get excited for what’s ahead!

Q: What do you and your husband enjoy doing when you’re not at church?
Pastor Krista:
We love to golf and fish together! Anytime we can, we’re outdoors — in parks, at lakes, or visiting little resale shops. We love finding treasures and spending time in God’s creation. And if anyone knows a good place to catch crappie — please tell us! That’s one of our favorite things to do.
Q: Do you have a favorite Bible verse that guides your ministry?
Pastor Krista:
Yes! Jeremiah 29:11–14 has always been special to me:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord, “plans for your welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
That verse reminds me that God is never too far from our sight or from our opportunities in life. It’s such a comfort to know that God has a plan — for each of us, for this church, and for our future. My hope is that it inspires others to remember that they are precious, loved, and never forgotten.
Q: Before ministry, what was one of your first callings?
Pastor Krista:
Before I went into ministry, I actually taught physical education — specifically working with special education students who had behavior disorders and learning challenges. That experience really shaped my heart for patience, understanding, and connection. It taught me to meet people where they are, to listen deeply, and to help them grow — lessons that have carried right into ministry.
Q: Salem Church will soon celebrate its 200th anniversary! What does that milestone mean to you?
Pastor Krista:
Isn’t that amazing? One of the coolest things I learned about Salem is that it’s almost 200 years old. That kind of history only happens because generations of faithful people have loved this church and invested in its mission.
It’s exciting to think not only about reaching that milestone, but about what comes after — the future of this community and what God still has planned here in Zionsville and beyond.
I can’t wait to meet everyone, especially those who may not have walked through these doors in a while. Come back! Visit! Let’s catch up over coffee — either during my office hours or at one of the coffee shops in town. And if you’re looking for a small, welcoming church where people know your name, Salem might just be the place for you.
Welcome Pastor Krista Price
As Pastor Krista settles into her new role, she brings with her a deep love for people, a joy for community, and a belief that small churches can make a big difference. Her message is simple but powerful: “God has a plan — and we’re part of it.”
We’re so excited to see what God will do through her leadership as we continue to grow, connect, and serve together. Come meet Pastor Krista in person this Sunday beginning at 8:45AM at Salem Methodist Church — where faith feels like family.
