Honoring God Through Healthy Living

As we move through another year, many of us find ourselves reflecting on our health, habits, and the choices we make each day. Sometimes those reflections come after a doctor's appointment, a life change, or simply the realization that we want to feel better and live well for the years ahead.
In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, we are reminded:
"Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? ... So you must honor God with your body."
These verses encourage us to think about how we care for ourselves—not out of vanity or perfectionism, but as an act of stewardship and faithfulness.
Lately, I've been focusing on making healthier choices in my own life. That includes paying closer attention to what I eat, exploring healthier meal options like those found in the Mediterranean diet, and committing to regular physical activity. These aren't dramatic changes overnight, but small, intentional steps toward better health and well-being.
One reason we've started gathering for walks is that they provide more than exercise. Walking together gives us an opportunity to encourage one another, build community, and strengthen our spiritual lives as we share conversation, prayer, and fellowship along the way.
As we get older, many of us recognize habits we wish we had changed sooner. The good news is that it's never too late to begin. Every day presents a new opportunity to make choices that benefit our mind, body, and spirit.
I encourage you to take a moment to consider your own health journey. What small change could you make today? How can you better care for the body God has given you? Whether it's healthier eating, more movement, better rest, or taking time for prayer and reflection, every positive step matters.
Let's walk this path together—supporting one another, growing stronger in faith, and honoring God through the way we care for ourselves.
May God bless you and guide you in your journey toward wholeness in mind, body, and spirit.
