Finding Peace When Life Changes

by Pastor Krista Price
Week of November 2, 2026

Sometimes, all it takes is one moment to change the course of your day.

You wake up with plans, expectations, and a sense of how things will unfold. Then something unexpected happens. An accident on the interstate, an unforeseen challenge, or news you weren't prepared to hear can suddenly turn everything upside down.

We can't always predict what life will bring, and we certainly can't control everything that happens around us. But even in those uncertain moments, there is a comforting truth we can hold onto: God is in control.

Trusting God Through the Unexpected

Recently, I was reminded of a song by Twila Paris from the 1980s, God Is in Control. Its message has stayed with me because it speaks to something we all experience. Life can shake us up. We face difficult days, unexpected obstacles, and situations that leave us wondering what comes next.

Yet through every challenge, God's presence remains constant.

Psalm 118:6 reminds us:

"The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?"

And just a few verses later, Psalm 118:8 tells us:

"It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans."

These words invite us to shift our focus away from the uncertainty around us and toward the One who remains faithful through it all.

A Reminder to Find Peace

When life feels overwhelming, it's easy to become consumed by worry. We want answers, solutions, and reassurance that everything will work out exactly as we planned.

But faith reminds us that we don't have to carry every burden alone.

As Christians, we look to Jesus and the cross as reminders of God's love and promises. Even when the world around us feels unsettled, we can find strength in knowing that God has the final word.

So, whatever this week brings, take a deep breath. Remember that an unexpected change doesn't have to steal your peace. Trust God's presence, lean into His guidance, and approach each day with faith rather than fear.

Make this week the best it can be, knowing that God is walking alongside you through every twist and turn.

May His peace guide you, strengthen you, and give you direction in the days ahead.

Go with Jesus. Shalom.
