A Season of Gratitude: Honoring Our Heroes This Veterans Day

by Pastor Krista Price
Week of November 11

As the seasons change and the crisp air of November settles in, we pause to reflect on what this time truly means — remembrance, gratitude, and the recognition of sacrifice.

Today, on Veterans Day, we give heartfelt thanks to all who have served our nation in the military. Many gave their lives in service, never returning home. Many others came back carrying the weight of their experiences, forever shaped by their devotion to duty and country. To each of them, we owe a debt of gratitude that words can scarcely express.

For many of us, this day also holds personal meaning. In Pastor’s reflection, he shared how his own father served in World War II, and how his three brothers and brother-in-law have also served with honor. Their stories, like so many others, remind us that the freedoms we enjoy were built upon countless acts of courage, faith, and sacrifice.

Yet as we remember those who served, we also turn our hearts to the ultimate example of sacrifice — Jesus Christ. Just as our veterans gave of themselves so that we might live in freedom, Christ gave His life on the cross so that we might live in eternal freedom. His gift of grace is the foundation upon which all other freedoms stand.

So today, we say thank you — to our veterans, to their families, and to the One who gave everything for us all.

May God bless you, and may His peace rest upon all who serve and remember this Veterans Day. 🇺🇸
